At the 132kV Substation, SB Power Contractors is delivering comprehensive substation design services, covering primary, secondary, SCADA/Telecom, and civil design. The project focuses on enhancing the substation’s performance and reliability through the reinforcement of key infrastructure to meet increasing energy demands.

Challenge
The primary challenge of this project is to upgrade the capacity of two 132kV transformers from 30MVA to 45MVA while ensuring seamless integration with the existing substation systems. This involves managing the complexities of high-voltage equipment modifications, auxiliary system upgrades, and SCADA/Telecom enhancements without disrupting ongoing operations. Additionally, maintaining compliance with stringent grid codes, safety standards, and operational reliability requirements adds to the project’s complexity.
Deliverables
• Primary Design: Detailed layouts and configurations for high-voltage equipment, supporting the transformer upgrade from 30MVA to 45MVA.
• Secondary Design: Development of protection and control schemes to enhance system security and operational efficiency.
• SCADA/Telecom Integration: Upgraded communication systems for real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and control.
• Civil Design: Structural assessments and modifications to accommodate the upgraded equipment and ensure long-term stability.
• Auxiliary Systems: Design of supporting high-voltage and auxiliary systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensured all designs adhere to relevant safety regulations, grid codes, and industry best practices.
